The Department of Urban Design and Planning (DPUU),
founded with D.R. 4813 of December 20th 2006,
represents a complex and articulated reality both in
the
Division of Sciences and Technologies and in the whole
Athenaeum “Federico II.” A numerically
remarkable structure, characterized by
multi-disciplinary scientific and didactic
specificities, transversal to the most general areas
of interest and knowledge; a structure that has
today the possibility to affect some of the most
strategic sectors for the advancement and
positioning of an university institution in relation
to the national and international overview.
The Urban Design and Planning complexity has an
useful repercussion on the multiplicity of
disciplinary competences, from the humanistic to the
techno-scientific: Architectural Composition, Urban,
Territorial and Environmental Planning,
Architectural Technology, Drawing, Technical
Architecture
and Interior Design, achieving a variety
of approaches to researches that guarantee
originality and continuity in obtaining scientific
results.
The Department structure owns such characteristics
to be included in numerous agreements stipulated
with various Authorities and Institutions; it gives
a support of competences that, ranging in different
interactive and complementary disciplinary areas,
are connected both with the regional and the
national productive network and with the organisms
in charge for the territory governance.
