SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES
FOR THE HABITAT
|
The research unit Sustainable
Technologies for the Habitat (STH) develops the arguments of
environmental sustainability in relation to
the issues of innovation, quality and new
technologies for the project and the
building production.
The main research areas are:
|
|
 |
Technologies for urban rehabilitation:
the research activity is focused on the
elaboration of supporting tools for
decisions to take in design and construction
phases, in the management and control of technological processes of the urban spaces
physical transformation. In this scenery,
the main contribution lays in addressing the
operational techniques towards environmental
sustainability purposes, including the
procedures for not altering the characters
of places, favouring non-invasive systems
and elements.
|
|
|
 |
Technologies for building rehabilitation: the research activity
deals with the study and the realization of
tools aimed at the rehabilitation of building heritage, developing operational
methodologies for the rehabilitation of
industrial archaeology, modern and
contemporary architecture, to the
technological and energy retrofit of buildings and the
monitoring of historical
and archaeological heritage.
|
|
|
 |
Technology
innovation for building:
the goal is studying building industrialization and assembly methods that
control and organize design activity,
characterized by processes acceleration.
Special interest is aimed at the control of
the whole life cycle of buildings and to
the study of impact reduction during the
construction phase, through the use of
dematerialized technologies,
light structures and eco-efficient products.
